An attempt to portray an adult Stegosaurus stenops; it's based on various sources - Scott Hartman's skeletal, many photographs of fossils, other artists' impressions, and mainly on Paul Barrett's book about the Sophie specimen.
With the discovery and description of Sophie, our view of this animal has changed quite a bit, especially regarding proportions. Longer neck and tail, not that tall, tail shape etc... However: Sophie is not an adult, and by far not fully grown. I tried to depict how Stegosaurus' proportions could have changed with further growth.
Thanks a lot to Facundo Javier Riguetti, a paleontologist specialised in Thyreophorans, who supported me with his advice and lots of scientific papers.
